Read more: https://www.spencersgroovy.com/ - What's in a classroom advocacy kit?- Adult self-advocates will be paid to assemble and package the following in the kits... **Lesson Plan (organized by age of student audience) **1 Book from the following (if you have a preference, let us know!) - Just Ask - You Are Enough - A Friend Like Anian **yellow/blue stickers -What's the outcome?- This year, we hope to distribute 100 or more classroom advocacy kits in 8 or more counties. - Where do we pick up the kits/socks?- Pick up event at MAKE STUDIO on 3/9 from 11am - 1pm Pick Up event at Isaac's aNORAble Home on 3/11 from 2pm - 5pm Pick Up event at Arc of Chesapeake in Easton on 3/14 from 10am - 2pm Pick Up event at the Cambridge Library on 3/18 from 10am - 1pm Porch-pick up in Dundalk, MD any day after 3/9 -Has DSAmd done this before- YES! In 2022, 74 Classroom Advocacy kits were deployed in 7 counties around the state of Maryland! Assuming an average class size of 18, that means 1,332 students received advocacy and opportunity to learn about individuals with Down syndrome! In 2023, we estimate we reached more than 1,600 students. We hope to top that this year.
